Tortelli is our little pasta shop and Gastronomia in Carroll Gardens. It’s a place built around friendship, family, and a love for fresh pasta.
The shop began with Chef Silvia Barban Chef and Owner of Larina Pastificio e Vino, Briscola Trattoria and James Mather, an NYC restaurant veteran from spots like Lupa, Roman’s, Maialino, Lilia, and Misipasta. They met years ago at LaRina and dreamed about opening a pasta shop of their own.
Later, Silvia met Vinny Ruggiero, owner of Mozz Lab, and found out not only did he share the same dream, but they were actually long-lost cousins from Calabria.
At Tortelli, we make fresh pasta every day. If you stop by you’ll see us hand rolling pasta from our small window. We also make sauces and tiramisu in-house, and stock the shelves with Italian wines, salumi, dairy products and excellent Italian pantry items.
Whether you stop by for a prepared plate of pasta, or to take something home to cook, Tortelli brings a bit of Italy—and a lot of heart—to Brooklyn.
